I recommend booking at least six weeks in advance when possible. This gives us plenty of time to work out all of the details & you can schedule any beauty appointments you may want in preparation. If you are looking to get in sooner, still inquire! We will always try our best to find room in our schedule for a client.

You will receive an email including the link to your online gallery within 4 weeks. For weddings, 8 weeks. From there, you will favorite the images you want to keep. Depending on how many images your session included, this could be anywhere from 5-25 images. (For weddings, you keep all images. Skip this step and head straight to downloading!) Once selected, you will receive a download link within 48 hours. You can download your photos from the gallery on any device. You can also share them, order additional digital images and order prints! All final invoices must be paid in full before any galleries will be delivered.

You will receive a full online gallery for the entire length of the session. These are called "proofs". Your session included a specific amount of photos. If you would like to purchase additional images, you can do so directly through the store link.

Yes! While I value my work as a photographer and charge based on the quality of work I put out, I realize that professional portraits can be quite the expense to some. I am always happy to work out a payment plan for any of our sessions that work with your budget and time frame. Final balance must be paid in full by the day of the session.

I always have a second photographer with me, because I believe your wedding is a story too important for one person to capture! We will be by your side every step of the way, guiding your day along. I will always work with other vendors to make sure your experience goes as smoothly as possible with Violet Fox Studios.

My studio is located in Alton, IL in the historic Milton Schoolhouse. We are in the South hall, located on the second floor.

I love to travel! I always try to find the savviest way to travel because I love to spread my creativity! Travel fees do apply to anything outside of a 25-mile radius of Alton, Il. Ask me for more details!

Yes. All standard sessions require a $100 retainer fee. For weddings it is $350. This amount goes towards your final total. This is non-refundable and covers my time and resources in the event we would have to cancel last minute. If an unavoidable circumstance arises, I am willing to reschedule your session date if I’m given enough notice. Also, if weather presents dangerous circumstances, we will reschedule.

There is actually a huge difference between printing yourself at your local consumer lab vs. printing through a photographer and their professional lab! The price difference may be worth it when it comes to your session. Let's talk about when it's wise to invest in professional prints and when printing yourself is the way to go. When you order through our professional lab, I guarantee the color and quality of the final product and most orders are shipped and received within three weeks after ordering.

That way you can see many examples of my work to determine if my style is a good for what you would like for your session. I tend to lean more on the moody side, with the occasional more natural look, depending on lighting. Let me know which style you prefer and I will try my best to accommodate!

While I do not limit the amount of outfits you may bring on a session, the time it takes to walk to the changing area and dress is a part of your session time. For a one hour session, I suggest 2-3 outfits at most. At the studio, our bathroom is located on the first floor, which is downstairs from the studio.

As a mom myself, I certainly know that kids’ behavior can change the mood of everything! Please don’t stress about this. In fact, the more you stress out, the more kids will pick up on that stress and then mirror it in their own way. It is better to keep things as light-hearted as possible, then let me handle the rest. For younger, more restless models, it will be a team effort in redirecting attention to photos. You can always bring additional support people to help with this.

I am **NOT** a speacialized newborn photographer. Any professional photographer will agree that it takes training and experience to SAFELY and adequately pose newborns. I have done newborn sessions, and am still learning my way around them, therefore I am very choosey of families that inquire about newborns.
